Philosophy

Our Philosophy guides our entire programme and practice at Kororoit Creek Kindergarten. It represents the values, beliefs and understandings of our community. Teachers, students and parents are invited to reflect and provide feedback on our Philosophy, and consider how our learning environment can provide the best opportunities for all.

Welcome to our kindergarten, a place for you to wonder, to question, to play and to learn. Here you are safe and can be yourself amongst friends.

Know that you will find spaces – inside and out – that are warm, wondrous and exciting. The teachers will support you to participate, have fun and challenge you to take risks in play. They will listen to your ideas and take them seriously, then carefully think about how to help you take them further. Here, you will begin to take your place in a global community, preparing for school, learning skills for life, making sense of the world. We will explore with you the wonders of the natural world, planting the seeds for a sustainable future.

We welcome your family and invite them to share with us your culture, language, knowledge and interests. Partnership with professionals and members of our broader community are valued and encouraged to achieve shared goals. Remember, we are all on this learning journey together, continually reflecting on our practices and principles to support you every step of the way.

Together we acknowledge this land where we learn and play and its first people, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and future and make an ongoing commitment to authentically embed Aboriginal culture within our Kindergarten environment and program.

Enrolments

Four-Year-Old Enrolments

Four-Year-Old Enrolments are managed wholly through the Melton City Council. First round enrolments for 2021 opened on 18 March and closed on 12 June 2020. Families will be notified of enrolment in July 2020 by Melton City Council. Enrolment applications can still be made after this date, however they will not be included in the first round offers. Enrolment confirmation from the kinder will commence from September 2020.

Your child must be 4 years old by 30 April the year your child attends Kindergarten to be eligible for a funded Four-Year-Old Kindergarten place.

Four-year-old kindergarten enrolments are open via the Melton City Council website

Three-Year-Old Enrolments

Three-Year-Old Kindergarten at Kororoit Creek is a beautiful and exciting way for your child to start their formal education. We support children to develop social, cognitive and motor skills in an engaging and wondrous learning environment. Our staff are nurturing and caring, and work closely with families to develop the best learning experience for each child.

Kororoit Creek Kindergarten is a City of Melton facility and we will be using the same process, timeline and ballot system for enrolments for 2021. Applications for our three-year-old activity program opened on 18 March and closed on 12 June 2020. It doesn’t matter when, within that time, you submit your application as all enrolments are treated equally, in line with the Council’s Kindergarten enrolment policy. You will be notified of the outcome of the ballot by September 2020.

If you are unsuccessful in gaining a place you will be asked if you would like to be placed on the waiting list and will be advised if a place becomes available. Parents who have more than one child they would like enrolled in the kinder eg twins, triplets etc will be allocated the appropriate number of places required if they are successful.

Your child must be 3 years old by 30 April the year your child attends Three-Year-Old Kindergarten.

Three-year-old enrolments for 2021 are now closed
