Kinder

Philosophy

Our Philosophy guides our entire programme and practice at Kororoit Creek Kindergarten. It represents the values, beliefs and understandings of our community. Teachers, students and parents are invited to reflect and provide feedback on our Philosophy, and consider how our learning environment can provide the best opportunities for all.

Welcome to our kindergarten, a place for you to wonder, to question, to play and to learn. Here you are safe and can be yourself amongst friends.

Know that you will find spaces – inside and out – that are warm, wondrous and exciting. The teachers will support you to participate, have fun and challenge you to take risks in play. They will listen to your ideas and take them seriously, then carefully think about how to help you take them further. Here, you will begin to take your place in a global community, preparing for school, learning skills for life, making sense of the world. We will explore with you the wonders of the natural world, planting the seeds for a sustainable future.

We welcome your family and invite them to share with us your culture, language, knowledge and interests. Partnership with professionals and members of our broader community are valued and encouraged to achieve shared goals. Remember, we are all on this learning journey together, continually reflecting on our practices and principles to support you every step of the way.

Together we acknowledge this land where we learn and play and its first people, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and future and make an ongoing commitment to authentically embed Aboriginal culture within our Kindergarten environment and program.
